Meet our Board of Directors

pollyNEWPolly Garcia began her journey with COW serving as the music director at Common Cathedral in Longmont, Colorado. She is trained in theater and interior design and continues art with her design and marketing company. As a founder and vice president of COW, her passion for creativity and outreach are utilized helping to establish COW in Vermont and along the east coast.

 

louisNEWLuis Garcia is the Dean of the University of Vermont College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences in Burlington Vermont. Luis was born in Colombia (SA) and from an early age was involved in art and helping others. He has an appreciation for how much art can help touch the lives of those in need.  Now he enjoys working with the logistics of obtaining and managing the resources to create art kits and magic suitcases. He currently serves as the treasurer for COW. He has had the opportunity to take a number of magic suitcases around the world and now is helping extend the reach of COW.

brian_hoagBrian Hoag has lead non-profit health organizations to extend their reach and care to patients for three decades. His ability to innovate and his appreciation for the arts fuel a passion that art reach everyone everywhere. He seeks the story in each of our lives as told by the hand of our own creation. Brian brings service and expertise to the Board of Directors so that COW may encourage and impact lives. It all starts from the profoundly simple gift of art supplies.

Tara Zeleny, Ph.D. serves as COW secretary and works to establish partnerships to serve children and families. She has coordinated partnerships and established programs of outreach throughout her career in the non-profit arena. As a lifelong educator, Tara believes in the importance of providing the opportunity to under-served individuals who are in need of the ability to experience art and have their own supplies.

Ron Zeleny is experienced in program management and assists in the implementation of COW projects across the country. He is able to help guide the growth and expansion of COW as new areas and individuals are identified. Ron works to involve the larger community, especially dealing with disaster relief, utilizing his background in state and national forest fire control.

Erin Hoag loved art from an early age. She is especially accomplished in sketching, and she most recently has discovered a passion for photography. Erin has dedicated her career to higher education, training and service. She brings synergy, creativity, and a love for education and the arts. Erin’s energy, organization and passion support COW and help to bring art to children all over the world.
